“I don’t know what is going on with her,” the 70-year-old told a rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

“Athletes, they make them take a drug test. I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate. Why don’t we do that?” Trump said.

The multi-millionaire also slammed the media for escalating claims of sexual assault against him, branding them corrupt.

President Muhammad Buhari has reportedly defended his joke on wife Aisha Buhari, where he said she belongs in the kitchen.

The President had caused an uproar when he told German press that he doesn’t “know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room, and the other room.”

This was after Aisha had expressed her displeasure at his regime, saying she wouldn’t vote for him in 2019 if things remained this way.

Why ‘African Time’ Is Bad And How To Keep To Time

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 07:35 PM PDT

Getting late to an event is something that is frowned upon by every serious minded person but that is something a lot of Africans, particularly Nigerians have come to take as part of their lives. It is unfortunate that ‘African Time’ has become so ingrained in our culture that we no longer care about the effects it has on us.

Tardiness affects us all in a lot of ways. From the financial implications to perception, it has taken quite a lot from the African continent as a whole. It is thus important that everyone especially employers and event organisers do all they can to put into effect a lateness policy that can help to prevent the situation from escalating and reduce any financial burden that may be incurred as a result of lateness.

Loss of Productivity

Whether it’s getting late to work or to a party, there is an apparent loss of productivity by doing so. An employed person that is supposed to be at work by 8 AM but resumes by 10 AM is contributing to a loss of productivity. Arriving late at a party also throws the schedule of the event off and will usually hinder productivity at a higher level than the latecomers can realise.

Unhappy People

Employees that arrive late at work will usually disrupt the normal flow of work especially if it is a time-sensitive area they handle. Employees that are in charge of opening the office at a specific time but arrive late may cause the company to lose customers if they are not there as at when needed. Multiple incidents of poor customer service will affect the reputation of the company and discourage other potential customers. More so, people that attend events scheduled for a particular time but which kicks off late are usually unhappy because they may have another appointment to keep by the time the event kicks off.

Negative Morale

Because a lot of people are already accustomed to arriving late at events, it affects the morale of other people that arrive early at events. If it is at a workplace, there’s a possibility that employees that arrive early will feel dissatisfied and angry making them feel unfair about the situation. This may result in reduced morale especially if they have to cover for the late person at work.

How To Overcome African Timing

While it may seem like a tough call to keep to time and avoid getting late to work or events, you can transform yourself from a chronic latecomer to a punctual person. Learn to make deadlines non-negotiable by starting with something that is easily attainable such as setting your alarm early and stopping yourself from hitting the snooze button.

If you find it difficult to commit to such a small inconvenience, then you’re not ready to let go of your African Timing. Experiment by getting to an event on time just once to have a taste of what it feels like. If you feel proud of yourself, you’re on the way to getting better.

Adjust your Time

For 2 weeks, write down the task you set out to do and the time you believe it will take for you to finish the tasks. Time yourself as you go through your list of activities such as taking a bath, eating, wearing your clothes and getting to work or the event. Write out the estimated time it took you to complete these tasks. This is essential as a lot of people set unrealistic time frames in their minds.

Be Happy With Waiting

If you’re scared of arriving early, you may want to plan something that will keep you busy while you wait. Take a magazine along with you or surf the internet with your phone. Try and make whatever activity you plan to do as compelling and specific as possible so that you’d have extra motivation to arrive early.

Don’t Plan To Be On Time

The problem with having an African Time mindset is that you probably aim to arrive at exactly the time the event will kick off which doesn’t leave any room for contingencies such as traffic. It’s best not to take chances and arrive at least 20 minutes before the commencement of an event.

8 Things That Can Improve Your Eyesight

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 07:27 PM PDT

With the advent of laptops, smart phones and other electronic devices, we are increasingly using our eyes to stare at images and small fonts than ever before. Unfortunately for a lot of us however, despite the immense strain we are putting on our eyes, we don’t seem to give our eyes time to relax or eat the type of foods that will keep our eyes healthy and at its optimum best.

Work routines ensure that we are kept busy in front of a computer screen and books for long hours daily and we rarely have the time to visit an eye doctor. There are however certain things that we can do that doesn’t require much time or effort and that can be performed at work or any other place we find ourselves.

Simple exercises such as nodding your head up and down after spending hours stating at a screen can help to increase blood circulation to your neck and eyes. It is also important to avoid staring at the sun as exposure to too much ultraviolet rays can make you become prone to cataract and macular degeneration. Sunglasses that block as much as 98% ultraviolet radiation should be employed to avoid your eyes going bad.

The tips below will help you strengthen your natural eyesight.

Eat Well

Foods rich in Vitamins A and C, lutein and beta carotene should be part of your daily diet as they help to repair the eyes. They can be found in foods such as cod liver oil, sweet potatoes, butter, pawpaw and grapes. Avoid eating green vegetables such as spinach and snacks.

Trick Your Eyes

Tricking your eyes can have a surprising beneficial effect in your overall vision. Do this by focusing on an object that’s about 20 feet away from you for between 10 to 20 seconds every 15 minutes. This will have a surprisingly good effect on your eyes. You should however avoid staring at gadgets for long hours on end. Remember to also lower the brightness level of your computer screen and phone as this helps to reduce strain on your eyes.

Rest As Much As Possible

It is important to get enough rest after hours of straining your eyes. Try and get enough rest, since sleep allows overworked eye muscles to relax completely. It is also important to avoid staring engaged with a particular activity for too long. Relax your eyes by taking regular breaks of 5-10 minutes to rest your eyes in between long activities that will put a strain on them.

Take Lots Of Water

Increasing your water intake can go a long way in keeping your eyes healthy. If you find out that your eyes are tired, dry or blurry, you’re probably dehydrated and need to take some water. You can keep your eyes hydrated by splashing your face with your eyes wide open and filling your mouth with water. This will leave you feeling refreshed all round.

Do Some Eye Exercise

Engage your eyes in some exercises. Place your hands together palm to palm and rub them together briskly to create warmth and heat. Place them over your eyes and think of a place where you feel most relaxed. Avoid letting light in whenever you’re exercising your eyes. These exercises are best done when you’ve spent hours sitting in front of a computer as they can help to improve your vision.

Go Orange

Carrots are especially rich in beta-carotene and they help to correct vision and promote eye health. Any other food containing beta-carotene and that comes in an orange hue are usually beneficial for the eyes. On the other hand, Omega 3 Fatty acids which are mostly found in nuts and cold-fish are quite good too as they help to keep the retinas healthy and stop age-related eyesight deterioration.

Avoid Sugars

Sugary foods should be avoided at all cost as they worsen your eyesight. More so, smoking has also been linked to an increased risk of developing optic nerve damage and macular degeneration as a result of age.

Remember to exercise your eyes by rolling them. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counter-clockwise. Placing cucumber slices on your eyelids after a long day will also help to reduce pressure on the eyes.

What Ozil’s M Celebration Means

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 06:12 PM PDT

Germany international and Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has explained his M celebration is for his niece Mira.

Ozil made the three-finger hand gesture after scoring in the 3-2 win over Swansea at the Emirates Stadium.

“That’s for my niece,” he told the Gunners’ official website. “She’s called Mira and when I score now, the goals are for her.

“She’s too young to notice but she has come to London a few times and has watched some games in which I’ve scored and then made that hand gesture.

“I just enjoy spending time with her because she’s so cute. She’s at the age where she’s a lot of fun to be around.

“We’re just delighted as a family to have her. She actually has an Arsenal shirt and a Germany one too and both have her name on the back.”

Koeman: Stekelenburg Was At His Best

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 06:03 PM PDT

Ronald Koeman, Everton manager has lauded Maarten Stekelenburg’s quality, after the goalie helped them earn a point against City.

The Dutchman saved two penalties from Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, but could not stop Nolito’s equaliser.

Everton are sixth in the table following the draw, a result Koeman welcomed given the quality of opposition.

“I am satisfied with a point because not many teams leave this stadium with a point,” he said.

“You need to be a little bit lucky and a goalkeeper to have the match of his life, and you need a [high] work-rate from your team.

“[The result is] a big compliment to the team because we fought. They [City] were the better team, had the chances, missed two penalties but it’s a final score of 1-1.

“I said yesterday to the rest of the staff that we need to be prepared for three defenders from Pep [Guardiola],” he added, referring to City’s formation changes.

“We took a risk to start with three forward players. That is why we changed after 20 minutes to deal with that.”

Koeman had little sympathy for the struggles of De Bruyne and Aguero from the spot, but did offer a ringing endorsement of Guardiola’s league leaders.

“If they miss penalties it’s the problem of City! We know we are difficult to beat,” he said.

“They [City] are the best team football-wise we have faced this season.”

Stekelenburg, meanwhile, admits that he will ask Phil Jagielka to buy him dinner, after the England international conceded both spot-kicks.

“When you go 1-0 up you hope you can get the three points but I think you have to be thankful for a point,” he told the BBC.

“It’s not only guesswork for the penalties, you do the analysis as well. Will Phil Jagielka buy me dinner after that? I will ask him!”

NCC Raises International Termination Rate To N24.40

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 03:02 PM PDT

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced that the International Termination Rate (ITR) has been reviewed and increased to N24.40 per minute.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the telecommunications regulator said that the review of the interconnect charges was for inbound traffic.

"The Nigerian Communications Commission, on September 16, 2016 reviewed the termination rate for international inbound traffic from ₦3.90/min to ₦24.40/min.

"The interim rate will subsist pending the conclusion of the study of the Determination of Cost Based Pricing for Mobile Voice Termination Rates," the commission said.

NAN reports that the increase in the ITR can be traced to a recommendation in a publication prepared by NCC's Policy, Competition & Economic Analysis Department in 2015.

The recommendation was based on the premise that telecommunications service providers and government might prefer higher rates that bring in hard currency and can fund investment; expand domestic network; fund innovation; and improve quality of service.

The department said that international termination rate had no impact on the domestic subscribers, hence, the need to review it.

"It would be in the interest of the economy to allow international traffic termination rate to be settled through negotiation and commercial agreement between the domestic service providers and international traffic carriers,'' the department recommended.

The reviewed ITR may be NCC's response to help domestic service providers increase their revenue.

Fish Company Owner Convicted After Cocaine Was Found With Fish Shipment

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 01:25 PM PDT

A Brooklyn fish company owner has been convicted after police found over $8 million worth of cocaine in a shipping container importing frozen shrimp.

New York press reported that Heeralall Sukdeo, owner of fish company Sukdeo Sons Fishing, was convicted by a Brooklyn Federal Court Friday.

Federal investigators using drug-sniffing dogs found 250 kilos of cocaine in a container of frozen shrimp shipped from Georgetown, Guyana to New York in June of last year. Mr Sukdeo, also known as "Randolph Fraser" was caught "red handed". Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Harris said in court. "The defendant is a drug smuggler."

The 59-year-old Sukdeo’s excuse was that he was conned by a relative but the judge didn’t buy his story, and with good reason. The New York Post reported that each package of frozen shrimp in the shipment had a phone number on it, one that was traced back to Sukdeo.

The shipment was addressed to a “Randolph Fraser” and one witness told police that not only did he know Sukdeo by that name, but that the fish company boss actually rented space at a warehouse using that alias.

NBA: J.R Smith Finally Agrees Contract With Cleveland Cavaliers

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 01:15 PM PDT

The Cleveland Cavaliers and J.R Smith have finally agreed on a four-year contract worth $57 million.

Since the start of training camp, contract negotiations between the Cavaliers front office and J.R Smith has been dragging on as both parties seemed to be far away from their evaluation of how much J.R was worth to the team financially.

Cavaliers teammates Lebron James and Kevin Love spent the last month lobbying for J.R. Smith to get rewarded with a contract after for his role in their championship win last season. Well looks like that contract hassle is over.

J.R in a video released on Uninterrupted.com announced the deal saying “We are extremely happy and proud to say we have agreed to terms to come back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, AKA the champs. AKA my brothers”

The 31-year-old was a major contributor last season for the Cavs on their way to the NBA finals averaging 12.4 points per game and shooting 40 percent on 3-pointers in 77 games.

In his 12 seasons in the NBA, Smith earned approximately $45.5 million. The new deal, which was first reported by ESPN gives Smith a guaranteed $45 million for the first three years of the deal, which was the $15 million per season he was looking for when negotiations opened this summer. If he stays for the fourth season, he will get an extra $12 million, taking his total earnings to $57 million.

“It’s been a long road. I appreciate everyone sticking with us through this rough patch of time,” Smith said on the video. “I know the holdout and everything has been long and tedious for everybody. But it’s extremely huge for us and we’re happy to be a part of the Cleveland family.”

When asked about the agreement, Cavs coach Ty Lue said “It’s great news, anytime you get your starting 2-guard back. [He was] a big part of what we did the last two years. It means a lot so hopefully we get the contract signed, and we’ll be going in the right direction.”

Lebron James has also expressed his happiness with the Smith deal.

“It Is Good For Us”, Hazard On Conte’s 3-4-3 Formation

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 01:05 PM PDT

Antonio Conte has started implementing a 3-4-3 formation at Chelsea and Hazard is glad, as it affords him more freedom.

Goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Victor Moses sealed Chelsea’s 3-0 home win over the reigning champions.

This is the blues second consecutive victory since Conte switched his tactics, deploying two attacking midfielders behind point man, Costa.

And Hazard, whose goal was his third in the league this season, is thoroughly enjoying the strategy.

He told Sky Sports: “I play more inside the pitch and I don’t stay wide.

“I play this system with the Belgium side. We have more freedom and we can win the ball back. It is good for us.

“We did everything – we created a lot of chances, scored three goals and didn’t concede. It’s good to be back and take three points.”

Hazard added that his celebration – making the number 22 with his hands – was dedicated to team-mate Willian, who is on compassionate leave after the death of his mother.

He added: “My celebration was for Willy. He lost his mother and we are thinking about him. We hope he can come back stronger.”

Leicester Miss Kante, Admits Morgan

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 08:21 AM PDT

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has admitted the club feels the absence of N’golo Kante.

The French midfielder left the club for Chelsea in the summer and played against his former club for the first time today, since he left the foxes.

But while Morgan admits the France international is missed, he insists it is time to move on.

“He was fantastic for us last season, he was our Player of the Year, what he did was incredible,” Morgan told Sky Sports.

“He came from a relatively unknown team in France and came to England and did extremely well.

“If any team didn’t have him, they would miss him and that goes for us. We do miss him, but we have to move on.

“We have got other players that have come in and are doing a great job in that position and there’s no point dwelling on the past and dwelling on N’Golo. We have to look forward for ourselves and we have players that can fill his boots.”

Leicester have collected eight points from their opening seven Premier League fixtures to sit 12th in the table, five points adrift of Chelsea.

“Teams know our strengths and will try to nullify them so we have to think of different ways to win and different systems because we don’t want to be predictable," Morgan added.

“Maybe we were overlooked last season, we surprised everyone, this season nobody is taking us for granted. Teams have approached the games with more intensity.”

Beyonce’s Formation World Tour Made Over $250 Million And Sold Over 2 Million Tickets

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 07:12 AM PDT

Beyonce's Formation tour ended on October 7 in New Jersey and according to Billboard, the Queen sold 2.2 million tickets, taking in over $256,084,556.

The tour, which began April 27 at Marlins Park in Miami, averaged $5.2 million and 45,757 paid attendance per show with a total of 49 stops around the world, which proves that everything Beyonce touches does turn to gold.

The two shows she had in London at the Wembley stadium in July were the highest-grossing stops for the tour, selling 142,500 tickets and earning $15.3 million.

The tour received high marks for its extravagant production, but tour promoter Arthur Fogel points out that Beyonce "rose above the spectacle" in her performances.

"When everybody acknowledges the greatness of the production but, more than that, everybody is blown away by her, that's the ultimately skill," he says. "To not only use the platform of a great production, but to rise above it as a performer and artist, that's her incredibly unique quality."

“When you go up [on sale] and sell out stadiums, and in some markets multiple stadiums, it's big,” Arthur Fogel told Billboard. “I have to congratulate the great team on our side that does these things, and I congratulate her team, because it was all really well done, well set up, and well-executed all the way around.”

Stampede: 19 Killed At Religious Gathering In India

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 07:09 AM PDT

At least 19 persons have been killed with 25 injured in a stampede that occurred on Saturday at a religious gathering in northern India as thousands of devotees of a controversial guru tried to cross a bridge at once, police said.

The followers of Jai Gurudev, a leader of a local religious sect, had gathered on the outskirts of Varanasi, a Hindu holy town on the banks of the river Ganges in Uttar Pradesh state, when the deadly stampede broke out.

"A total of 19 people have died in the incident. Fourteen of the dead are women," Hari Ram Sharma, police inspector general, told reporters in the state capital Lucknow.

Speaking on the disaster, the State police chief Javeed Ahmed faulted overcrowding on the old iron bridge for the incident.

"They had sought permission for 5,000 persons but many more people reached and joined the procession," Ahmed told India's NDTV news network.

"They were crossing a bridge when some rumour-mongering happened which led to the disaster."

Also speaking, S.K. Bhagat, another police officer, said that organizers were expecting 3,000 Hindu devotees at the ceremony, but that more than 70,000 thronged the ashram of the local Hindu religious leader, Gurudev, on the banks of the Ganges River.

“We were not prepared for such a large crowd,” Raj Bahadur, a spokesman for the organizers, told The Associated Press.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was deeply saddened by the tragedy.

“I have spoken to officials and asked them to ensure all possible help to those affected,” he tweeted.

University Don Criticizes Senate’s ‘3 Years Validity Of JAMB Result’ Directive

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 05:34 AM PDT

Dr Oluyombo Onafowokan, an Associate Professor, has flayed the directive by the Senate that JAMB should extend the validity of results acquired in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to a period of three years – saying it will have negative effect on the nation's standard of education.

Speaking on Saturday in an interview in Sango-Ota, Ogun state, Onafowokan, a Senior Lecturer, School of Management & Social Sciences, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, stated that such policy would make students lackadaisical and unserious.

He said that the directive by the Senate is not good for ‘our educational system because it will make students not to take JAMB examination seriously.’

He said, "I think the new policy will also create room for redundancy, since they know that their JAMB result could be used to enter the university for three years."

The don said that JAMB should be allowed to continue with the best ways known to it in handling the examination annually.

He further added that the nation's educational system needed policy that would improve standard of education not the one that would have adverse effects.

Morocco: A Prodigal Son Gives Conditions

Posted: 15 Oct 2016 04:39 AM PDT

Morocco: A Prodigal Son Gives Conditions, By Owei Lakemfa

Africa, beloved of God, has many sons and daughters. Some of them in ancient Egypt gave the world its modern civilisation. It also gave Greece its philosophy, which became the basis of Western thought and philosophy. However, a different race whom our Seers had warned us against, swooped on and enslaved almost all of Africa's children. In pain and in tears, through our sweat and blood, we struggled for freedom. That was years before the whole humanity agreed that the right of a people to self-determination is non-negotiable.

This piece was written by Owei Lakemfa. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

Even at the dawn of freedom, Africa's children were like sheep without Shepard, as the former slave masters sought to continue our enslavement, this time, indirectly. Then we coalesced into two broad groups. Some met in Casablanca, Moroccco and became the Casablanca Group; the other became the Monrovia Group. Africa's far-sighted leaders met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and on May 25, 1963, gave birth to one united movement of the African people called the Organisation of African Unity. We vowed that never again will Africans be enslaved and that those still in bondage like South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Guinea Bissau and Western Sahara shall be free. Indeed, despite the efforts of enslavers, they became free. All African children became free but we did not envisage that one of our prominent sons would collaborate with the foreign slave masters to deprive one of us of her freedom.

Mother Africa has been generous by providing for us all; big and small, we have our own inheritance. But our brother Morocco decided, in addition, to seize the inheritance and wealth of small Western Sahara. First it connived with the Spanish slave masters to deprive Western Sahara of its independence. Then it got the latter to hand over the riches of Western Sahara to him and Brother Mauritania; both proceeded to share it as a booty. Mauritania was to rethink and wash its hands off its share of the loot, which greedy Morocco seized and added to its share.

However, Africa will not have such covetousness and decided to call Brother Morocco to order, reminding him that the African peoples are one and that our ancestors forbid stealing. But stubborn Morocco would not agree, and when the rest of Africa welcomed our Saharawi brothers and sisters to our common home, the African Union, Morocco would have none of it. It decided to leave home and go hunting with the old slave masters. A few brothers walked out with him, but when they got to the gate, turned back to join the rest of the family. Morocco, backed by the former slave owners, went looting the fishes, phosphate and the riches of the Saharawi. It brutalised the Saharawi, detained some, destroyed their homes, forced some into refugee camps, built a wall dividing the territory, and forced the rest under its jackboots. It paid no heed to the international community, refused to allow the referendum the rest of the world directed should be conducted to allow the Western Sahara decide freely whether it wants to be free or be part of big brother Morocco. In one of the most ridiculous cases of thuggery, Morocco seized one of our Saharawi sisters, Aminatu Haider and exiled her to the territory of the former slave master. If indeed the Saharawi is Moroccan, how would you exile your citizen to a foreign territory?

After thirty two years of wandering in the desert and keeping bad company, prodigal Morocco decided to return home to the African Union. He must have realised that he is a nobody outside the homestead; that his foreign friends will never threat him as an equal, that is if in the first place, they regard him as a human being. Our brother, King Mohammed VI of Morocco who was born three months after the Union was founded, wrote a rambling and insulting 2,144-word letter announcing Morocco is willing to return. Nobody will stop such a return because Morocco is a long lost son and our home is a common patrimony. It is like a long lost sheep; why won't motherly Africa rejoice that her prodigal son has decided to retrace his steps and return home? But while the Biblical prodigal son was remorseful, full of regrets and begged for forgiveness, the Moroccan prodigal is unrepentant, arrogant and exhibiting the traits of a street thug.

In the letter announcing his decision to return home, he referred to his brother Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR/Western Sahara) as a "phantom state." His illogical argument is that the SADR, which is a biological son of Africa, is not a member of the United Nations (UN). So what? How is being a member of the UN the criteria for statehood? For decades, Switzerland, one of the oldest republics of the world, was not a member of the UN. In any case, do we need the certification of the UN to determine that the Saharawi is a full blooded African?

Morocco indulged in falsehood when he claimed it left the homestead because he does not want to create a division. The truth is that it left when it could not create a division. It wants to adopt the same tactics by trying to induce other Africans with economic and monetary baits to expel or suspend Western Sahara from our common home. Morocco can swallow its pride and return to the African fold, but the Saharawi will never be expelled from the home of his father. Africa belongs to all Africans and no African is superior to the other. Any African leader who backs Morocco, whether for a mess of porridge or due to pressures from the former slave masters, to expel or suspend Western Sahara from the African House, should know he is trying to break and destroy the union of the African peoples. Such people will be the enemies of the African people and foes of social justice. We cannot allow the rule of might over right in our continent. All those sharing in the loot of Western Sahara, be they foreigners or Africans, will ultimately have to account for their greed.

When leaders like General Muhammadu Buhari and Dr. Julius Nyerere (who presided) sat in the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) thirty two years and decided to admit the SADR into the Union, it was in the fundamental interest of Africa. To seek to take a different action today, is to betray these leaders, endanger the health of mother Africa and mortgage the future of our continent and children. If the prodigal son will not abide by the basic principles and the brotherly love that bind all of Africa, it is free to continue wandering in the desert. Prodigal Morocco cannot give Africa conditions to return home.
